    About the filmmaker: Bako Sadikov was born on July 13th, 1941 in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. He worked as an actor in the Bukhara Theater from 1959 to 1960. In 1967, he graduated from the Tashkent Theatrical Institute. From 1978 to 1992, he worked at Tajikfilm Studio. He has been officially recognized as an Honored Artist of Tajikistan.

    About the filmmaker

    Bakhtier Kakharov was born in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 1963. In 1985 he graduated from Tajik Polytechnic Institute, with a degree in architecture. From 1986 to 1990, he participated in many different Tajik animated films as designer. from 1990 to 1992, he took the advanced courses of The Unit of cinematographers and Goskino USSR in Moscow in a workshop taught by famed teachers, Hitruk F. and Nazarov E.

    About the filmmaker

    Denis Beketov was born on April 1st, 1980. He began his studies in journalism before switching to Cinematography at the Kinoservice LTD while also teaching journalism at Tajik Slavonic University (Tajikistan). He is currently a post-graduate student in documentary film in Tajikistan.

    Synopsis:

    Maryam is a champion runner in Tajikistan. Her mother dies and all of her friends come for the burial. Ultimately, they all leave Maryam with her pain, and she comes to the realization that she herself had left her mother behind in order to pursue a life of her own.

    About the filmmaker

    Abror Nazarov was born in Dushanbe in 1980. Everything he knows about film, he taught himself. He has also studied music since the age of 11 by watching Paler Nazarov, his father‚s group.

    This film was produced with the assistance of Makhmalbaf Film House and the Swiss Agency of Development and Cooperation in Tajikistan

    Synopsis:

    A young boy‚s serene life is interrupted when his beloved mother dies and he is left alone with his father. He writes a letter to God, asking for his mother back, and ties the message to the branch of a tree in a sacred place. Soon, a dove appears at their house. The boy believes that the dove‚s eyes are familiar to him.

Between 1986 and 1990, he served as designer on a number of animated films.     What does the term ‘migrant worker‚ mean, aside from being a dry statistical word combination? What flours of hell should be passed to these workers to allow their families a minimum of prosperity? And what of the women left behind to care for the households? This documentary examines this serious social drama of concrete heroes.

    About the filmmaker

    Georgi Dzalaev was born in February of 1954. One of the most famous cinematographers in Tajikistan, he graduated with a degree in the subject from VGIK. For a long time he worked as a cameraman on fiction films (Bratan, The Stars Are Lighting Above Tandur), but most recently has turned to documentary work, for which he serves as writer and director as well as cinematographer.
