A young girl is stuck in a lift. A young boy, whom we don’t see, endeavors to save her from the stagnant atmosphere of the lift via a mobile phone. A sick kind of relationship forms between the two who do not see each other – just like an Iranian chat!

According to an ancient belief in desert regions, when a well dries up, the local people choose one of their girls and marry her to the well so that the power of her love will revive the well.
About the filmmaker
Hassan Naghashi holds a degree in dramatic literature from Yazd University and another degree in filmmaking from the Cinematic Art School. He is a standing member of the Iranian Documentary Society. He has participated in the Fajr International Film Festival three times with his films Soshiuos (2004), Mashi & Masshianeh (2005), and Tishtar (2006), all in the Documentary Competition section. His films have also been selected for numerous foreign festivals, among them Vancouver 2003, Sweden 2003, Statina 2004, Montenegro 2005 and 2006, Tampere 2006, Vancouver 2006, and Italy 2007. -

About the filmmaker
Alireza Darvish was born in 1968 in Rash (Iran). From 1984 to 1988 he studied Art History and Painting at the Tehran Fine Arts Institute. Following graduation, he worked as an illustrator for such publications as Donjaie Sochan and Naghashe Galam. In 1989, he won second prize in the Iranian Young Painters Conquest. Around this same time he began teaching painting and drawing at the Fine Arts Institute. In 1995, he moved to Germany where he would work for the Bavarian Film Studio in Munich. Despite moving around Europe a bit in the subsequent years, he has now settled in Germany where he works as a graphic designer, illustrator and animator. His artwork has been exhibited many times in Iran, in various places in Europe and in Canada. -

This was one segment of a twenty-six-part compilation film about Mozart by Austrian filmmakers. Each director contributed one minute-long film.
About the filmmakerHouchang Allahyari was born in Tehran. He studied Medicine in Vienna and worked for more than twenty years as a psychiatrist both in private practice and for the Ministry of Justice in Austria. His fascination with film and theater brought him to filmmaking. He has made a few shorts and documentaries, as well as nine feature films, which have received numerous awards. He lives in Austria.
